Fresno State Bulldogs @ Boise State Broncos (-30 ½)
Friday, November 19 – 9:30 PM
Biose State has their its eyes set on a BCS championship and they are not about to lose it at the hands of unranked Fresno State. The Broncos are coming in as 30+ point favorites according to the sportsbooks and The Broncos will need to cover that if they want the title game. The Broncos covered last week when they crushed Idaho by 38 and although The Bulldogs aren’t ranked, things look to get tougher this week.
Kellen Moore has been unbelievable at QB this season for Boise State. With over 2500 yards on the year and 24 TD he has led the Broncos to nine straight victories throughout which they have outscored opponents 428-115. Doug Martin has been rolling as the RB with 866 yards in the season and 8 TD. There is no stopping this offense, there is only keeping up. The defense has also been very impressive allowing just 12.8 points per game making them the second most effective defense in the league.
The Bulldogs aren’t about to walk a red carpet for The Broncos. At 6-3 Fresno State has some talented weapons and is hoping for a few stars to help them upset Boise State. QB Ryan Colburn has been on a steady slope of improvement and he has been utilizing all of his offensive teammates. RB Robbie Rouse has rushed for nearly 1000 yards on the season and 6 different receivers have made multiple catches in games this year.
The defense could pose a serious problem though. The Bulldogs defense has been very shaky in recent games but has also shown signs of excellence. Fresno State may be relying on the possibility that Boise State will be looking past them to Nevada next week and give The Bulldogs a chance to catch them by surprise.
Betting Trends
Fresno State is 13-5 SU in the last 18 games and the total has gone OVER in 4 of the last 5 games. The Bulldogs are 1-8 ATS and 1-8 SU in the last 9 games against Boise State. The Broncos are 9-0 SU in the last 9 games and 2-4 ATS in the last 6 at home. The total has gone OVER in 5 of the last 7 games.
Virginia Tech Hokies (-2 ½) @ Miami Hurricanes
Saturday, November 20 – 3:30 PM
The sportsbooks are giving The Hokies two and half points in this game, but it could be very difficult to accurately predict this one. The Hokies have a perfect conference record this season and are gunning for the ACC title game. Miami is hoping that they can take victory over The Hokies and steal the conference title game from them.
Virginia Tech and Miami both have very talented offenses. VT has the top ranked offense in the ACC with 36 points per game and 414 averaged yards. The Hurricanes are averaging 28 points per game and 416 yards. Their defenses are in fact very similar as well with the Hokies allowing just 19 points per game and the Canes averaging 18.
So the difference maker will have to be found in little things like field goal units and kick returns. It should make for a very exciting game and it will hard to put a finger on who has the advantage until the game really starts rolling.
Betting Trends
Virginia Tech 5-0 SU in the last 5 games and 5-0 SU in the last 5 on the road. In 5 of the last 7 games on the road the total has gone UNDER. Miami is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games and 4-1 SU in its last 5. At home the Canes are 11-3 in the last 14 but 1-8 ATS in their last 9 against VT.
Wisconsin Badgers (-5) @ Michigan Wolverines
Saturday, November 20 – 12:00 PM
After climbing their way into the thick of the ranked teams Michigan looked like they were on their way to being one of the top dogs this season. Unfortunately for them, a loss to in-state rival Michigan State started them on a 3 game losing streak that quickly dropped them from the rankings. Now sitting at 7-3 The Wolverines are looking to upset the 9-1 Badgers.
Denard Robinson has been clutch for Michigan at QB. His passer rating is currently 157.67 with 1990 yards and 14 TD. Not only are his passes accurate but he can dance around the pocket and rush the ball with quick feet. Vincent Smith has been giving him support at the RB position with 521 yards and 5 TD on the season. He will have his work cut out for him this week as he takes on the 23rd ranked defense in the league. Wisconsin is very fast and he will need to make decisions quickly and be accurate if Michigan is going to have a chance at winning this game.
The Michigan defense will be the ones who will really be tested this weekend. Wisconsin has a high powered offense led by QB Scott Tolzien. In their last matchup against Indiana the Badgers put 83 points to Indiana’s 20. Not only in Tolzien a threat through the air, but RB Montee Ball is an excellent runner and will shred the Michigan defense if they are not focused.
Betting Trends
Wisconsin is 5-0 in its last 5 games and the total has gone OVER in 5 of its last 6 games. The Badgers are 6-1-1 ATS when in their last 8 games against Michigan. The Wolverines are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games and 7-3 SU in their last 10. They are 8-3 SU in its last 11 games when playing Wisconsin.
